Yelm Habitat Store Transformed into a Sustainable Powerhouse

We are excited to announce the successful completion of our transformative project made possible by the prestigious Puget Sound Energy Solar Grant. The grant enabled us to install solar panels on the south side of the Yelm Habitat Store, representing a significant achievement in our commitment to embracing renewable energy and fostering a sustainable future. Thrilled to combine affordable housing with environmentally friendly practices, we are proud to have taken this momentous step powered by the sun!

Fostering Green Energy and Environmental Stewardship:

We believe strongly in the power of collective action to address environmental challenges. Through our partnership with PSE, we took a significant step forward in promoting the adoption of renewable energy and environmental stewardship. The incorporation of solar power at the Yelm Habitat Store has inspired our community to embrace sustainable practices and raised awareness about the benefits of green energy solutions.

Enhancing Energy Efficiency and Cost Savings:

The installation of solar panels at the Yelm Habitat Store will result in a substantial reduction in energy costs. By generating renewable energy on-site, we will offset a significant portion of our electricity consumption, leading to direct financial benefits for our organization. These savings have allowed us to allocate more funds toward our core mission of building affordable homes for those in need. In addition to the financial advantages, the solar panels contribute to a greener future, fostering sustainable practices that positively impact our community.

This project not only reflects our dedication to sustainability but also serves as a catalyst for a greener future. Moreover, our ambitious goals for 2023, including completing the solar project, initiating home construction in Tumwater, commencing infrastructure development in Yelm, and continuing to assist families through the Critical Home Repair program, exemplify our commitment to building stronger, more sustainable communities in the New Year.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Puget Sound Energy (PSE) for their generous grant, which made this project possible. Their support and recognition of our vision for sustainable living empowered us to make a tangible difference in our community. We would also like to thank South Sound Solar for all of their hard work installing the solar panels on our roof! Together, we have paved the way for a greener and more inclusive world.

Thank you, PSE, for partnering with us on this transformative journey.
