Reflecting on Our Experience at the Atlanta Habitat International Conference

In early March, our team had the privilege of attending the Atlanta Habitat International Conference, joining 70 countries and 1,100 affiliates, a global movement to provide a decent place to live for everyone! Through engaging workshops, thought-provoking discussions, and informative presentations, we gained valuable knowledge and perspectives that informed our work in the months and years to come.

One of the highlights of the convention was the opportunity to learn from Habitat’s global network of affiliates, each bringing unique experiences and expertise to the table. From innovative housing solutions to effective community engagement strategies, we were inspired by the diverse approaches being used to address the affordable housing crisis worldwide.

In addition to learning from others, we also had the chance to share our own successes and challenges, contributing to the collective knowledge of the Habitat community. Whether discussing our latest build projects, sharing fundraising strategies, or highlighting the impact of our volunteer programs, we were proud to showcase the incredible work being done by South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity.

As we reflect on our experience at the convention, we are energized and motivated to apply what we’ve learned to our local efforts here in Thurston County. Armed with new ideas, insights, and connections, we are more determined than ever to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families, individuals, and Veterans in need of safe, decent, and affordable housing.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Habitat International for hosting this inspiring event and to all the participants who contributed to its success. Together, we are building a brighter future for communities around the world, one home at a time.
