In early March, our team had the privilege of attending the Atlanta Habitat International Convention, joining hundreds of other Habitat affiliates from around the world to learn, collaborate, and be inspired. Through engaging workshops, thought-provoking discussions, and informative presentations, we gained valuable knowledge and perspectives that informed our work in the months and years to come.
Last week, the South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity team rolled up their sleeves for a day of hands-on work at our Tumwater build site. It was a day filled with camaraderie, hard work, and meaningful progress towards our mission of providing affordable housing to our community.

On December 6th, we had the privilege of coming together for a memorable evening - our Volunteer Appreciation Night. Now, as we reflect on the event, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible moments shared and the bonds strengthened.
In 2018, I joined South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity as the Executive Director. As part of my onboarding, I started by working with the board and staff to develop a strategic plan that included guiding principles. Through this process, we identified diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as one of the guiding principles of our organization: “Habitat for Humanity welcomes people from all walks of life to partner with us as volunteers, donors, employees, and homebuyers. We celebrate and value diversity, welcome differences, and leverage the collective strengths of all people.”
