Habitat on the Hill: Advocating for Affordable Housing

South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity recently had the privilege of participating in Habitat on the Hill, a nationwide gathering where advocates from Habitat affiliates across the country come together to champion affordable housing initiatives. Our very own Interim CEO, Greg, had the opportunity to represent our organization at this impactful event.

During his time at Habitat on the Hill, Greg engaged in discussions with policymakers, community leaders, and fellow advocates about the pressing need for affordable housing solutions in Thurston County. He shared our organization’s commitment to addressing the housing crisis and highlighted the transformative impact of our work in providing safe, decent, and affordable homes to families, individuals, and Veterans in need.

Moving forward, we are more determined than ever to advance our mission of affordable housing in Thurston County. We recognize that the need for affordable housing is urgent, and we are committed to taking proactive steps to address this issue head-on. Through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and advocacy efforts, we will continue to amplify our voice and push for policies that prioritize affordable housing for all residents of Thurston County.

As we reflect on Greg’s time at Habitat on the Hill and the conversations sparked by this event, we are inspired to redouble our efforts in the fight for affordable housing. Together, with the support of our community, we will work tirelessly to create a future where everyone has access to safe, affordable housing in our community.
