• Merchandising - keeping the store looking nice
• Customer Service - helping the customers find what they are looking for.
• Accepting Donation - taking the stuff that people want to give to us and doing pick ups.

• Data Entry- entering volunteer hours into the computer

Internships are available for local students. Please send your resume and cover letter to the Volunteer Coordinator. Internships will be designed based on the skills and interests of the student and our current needs.

Here’s another important way you can help: If you have left-over or reusable building materials, take them to Sound Builders' ReStore at the corner of Thurston and Washington Streets in downtown Olympia. When you do this, the materials will be sold and the profits directed toward Habitat for Humanity. It’s good for the environment, it’s good for our community, and it’s great for Habitat.

Committees

• Family Advocates -

An advocate needs to be a good listener with a common-sense approach to life.  You need to be sensitive to the issues of low-income families.  And you need to be able to spend a bit of time each week, sometimes just on the phone, with your family, serving as a liaison between them and the affiliate, answering questions, guiding them in financial matters if needed, and encouraging them throughout the process.  Additionally, you will be a member of the Partnership Committee during your tenure as an advocate.
